About Youth Wiki

Youth Wiki is an online platform with information available about national youth policies in several European countries. The platform is a comprehensive database of national structures, policies, and actions that support young people.

Network Goals

The Youth Wiki aims to provide comprehensive comparative information on Youth Policies and Good Practices, serving as a basis for evidence-based policies, thus reducing the need for ad hoc studies.

The content of Youth Wiki is based on the political priorities defined by the European Commission and the Member States within the framework of European cooperation in the field of youth. It supports key commitments and policy development at European level for the action areas identified in the EU Youth Strategy.

Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries of the Youth Wiki are national and European policy makers, researchers and academics, journalists, youth organisations working for young people and the media in general.

Benefits

Timely updated data and information related to the national youth policies of the 32 countries participating in Youth Wiki. It provides a comparative analysis of the reforms and trends in the political orientations in the participating countries.

The role of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ) in Youth Wiki

In Portugal, IPDJ is, since April 2024, the national correspondent for Youth Wiki in close cooperation with the National Agency Erasmus + Youth/ Sports and European Solidarity Corps and with the main stakeholders, public and private, operating in the field of Youth.

IPDJ is therefore responsible for annually updating national information with new initiatives and programs implemented or ongoing debates and reforms.

Youth Wiki Structure

The contents are defined in accordance with the political priorities determined by the European Commission and the Member States, within the framework of European cooperation in youth matters.

The platform currently has 10 chapters: Governance and Public Policies, Education and Training, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Health and Well-Being, Participation, Volunteering, Social Inclusion, Youth and the World, Creativity and Culture, Youth Work.
